Mathematisch-Physikalischer Salon

The Mathematisch-Physikalischer Salon in Dresden's Zwinger contains a nice collection of historic globes, scientific instruments, astronomical clocks and watches. There are gigantic concave mirrors by Ehrenfried Walther von Tschirnhaus (1651-1708) and pictures of cannonball trajectories which are not *exactly* supported by any law of motion I trust. ;-)

Frauenkirche

Yesterday I found the time to visit Dresden's recently restorated Frauenkirche. Built between 1726 and 1743 it was destroyed almost exactly 60 years ago by British bomb attacks during the night 13./14. February 1945. Between 1994 and 2005 it was rebuilt and re-opend in October 2005.
