1/  Be early at the airport and ask for a seat at the emergency exit. If there are two rows at the wing exits, always request the rear one (the front one usually has fixed seatbacks). 

2/  Have a look at SeatGuru before checking in. 

Zürich Air Traffic

This air traffic map of Zurich Airport is simply amazing. It works in real time as one can check with the arrivals displays -- and looking out of my window I can identify the planes on the sky. :-)
