BELLE @ KEK

The BELLE detector is installed at the KEKB e+/e- storage ring at KEK, Japan's National Institute for High Energy Physics in Tsukuba near Tokyo. KEKB is an asymmetric storage ring with one interaction point, colliding positrons with 3.5 GeV and electrons with 8 GeV -- an impressive machine with respect to luminosity: they have constantly currents in the order of 1 Ampere (!) in each storage ring, constantly because they are continuously refilling the storage rings. When they do something in Japan, they do it seriously. :-) Actually, the accelerator is operated by Mitsubishi. BTW, please note which computers they use. ;-) Thanks to Ralf for the excursions to KEK and to local izakayas!!
